Whether a person is indoors often or out in the sun on a daily basis, their skin is exposed to an array of elemental factors that may result in dryness or other forms of skin damage. However, varying medical centers have proven that one way to promote skin health is through the act of moisturizing. Some of these benefits include both the smoothing of dry skin and, in contrast, reducing oil production.

Simply using a form of moisturizer on the body may help with the creation of a younger appearance, as moisturizing products aid with one’s skin elasticity. However, it is important to keep in mind the most delicate areas when deciding on what types of skincare one might use. Parts of the body such as face, ears, neck, and chest are extremely sensitive to the environment and the changes around it. Thus, they require more care in the form of moisturizing. But what many people don’t realize is the need to moisturize their most intimate parts, as well.

    Keep Your Intimates Healthy

Every part of a person’s skin is prone to dryness, including the most intimate skin areas. Some areas of the body are more sensitive than others and may result in discomfort if not properly cared for. In sensitive areas like the vagina, painful dryness may cause more discomfort than other spots. This may be a result of low estrogen levels from childbirth, cancer treatments, or menopause; this results in the loss of natural vaginal lubrication. However, these areas may also be dry as a result of everyday things such as cold or allergy medication, birth control, and more.

If hormonal treatments are not an option, intimate moisturizers are one way to solve this problem. These forms of moisturizers provide non-hormonal treatment to the vaginal area, rehydrating the tissue in a safe and easy manner. These are usually one of the quickest methods to solving intimate dryness, often considered as one of the first options by medical professionals. However, moisturizing this area of the body also acts as discomfort prevention.

    Moisturizing After a Shave

One of the most sensitive parts of the body is the bikini area. This part of the body is more prone to redness, ingrown hairs, and dry skin than other areas. This is due to the intimate nature of the bikini area, as well as the process of hair removal stripping away moisture in the skin. To alleviate some of these issues post-shave, a moisturizer created for intimates is recommended by experts to decrease the chances of itching and redness.

In addition to soothing the bikini area, intimate moisturizer also aids with maintaining the pH balance of the skin. When the pH balance is off, irritation and breakouts may occur. By moisturizing the bikini area, one can prevent some of these common issues.

    Conclusion

Though many may not consider moisturizing the intimate areas of their body as a typical part of a daily routine, it is an important aspect of skin health. The soothing nature of moisturizer for intimates promotes skin health and prevents discomfort.
